Lawmakers say Yonkers residents who live near the Empire City casino will soon have much more parking to choose from.

Assemblyman Mike Spano (D-Yonkers) and state Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Yonkers) say Gov. David Paterson has signed a bill requiring anyone who parks within five blocks of the Yonkers Raceway to have a permit.

Police have for years received complaints about casino and raceway fans who park on side streets, limiting spaces for local residents.
