Residents seek removal of Port Chester fire chief
Residents are calling for the removal of Port Chester Fire Chief Edward Quinn and the reinstatement of eight paid firefighters who lost their jobs due to budget cuts.
The paid firefighters were replaced last month with an all-volunteer department due to budget cuts.
On Wednesday, News 12 obtained a secretly recorded audiotape that reportedly captures Quinn instructing his men to vandalize the Port Chester home of a paid Harrison firefighter.
Quinn has denied that the voice on the tape is his.
Residents who are pushing for the rehiring of the dismissed firefighters plan to meet with village trustees on June 6 at the courthouse on North Main Street. They have also been circulating a petition for their reinstatement.
