Republican Attorney General candidate John Cahill give support to medical marijuana program in New York
In four days, lawmakers will vote on a controversial measure that would create a medical marijuana program in New York.
Residents are divided about the issue, with most support from the Democrats and most opposition from Republicans.
However, John Cahill, the GOP candidate for attorney general, threw his full support today behind the plan.
Cahill admits he was cynical at first, but now says patients with serious medical needs should not have to wait another year for the help they need and deserve.
"This is not a partisan issue," he said. "This is about the care and well-being of so many New Yorkers."
