A family in Bedford Park was left dealing with a big mess in their home when their bathroom ceiling came crashing down on Sunday.
Now, a day after News 12 covered the story, the super is working on repairing it. Janet de Jesus's bathroom ceiling collapsed from what she believes was a leak. Luckily, no one was in the room when it caved in. "I have a 1-year-old that's home. All that dust and everything in here, it's no good for him," said de Jesus.
After News 12 cameras left on Monday, she says the building's super came to fix the hole. But she says more needs to be done to prevent something like this from happening again.
"Something breaks, he comes, he does a little patchwork and there it goes. He thinks it's fixed? It's not fixed. It's not," said de Jesus.
News 12 spoke with the super on Sunday, who said that they are also working on fixing a pipe leak on the top floor of the building, which he says should prevent future leaks in the apartment.
The super told News 12 that he is working on repairing the bathroom. He says he will also repaint on Wednesday.
