People from across the Hudson Valley rallied in White Plains today to show support for Israel.
Residents and elected officials rallied on the steps of White Plains City Hall.
The rally comes on the same afternoon that the Israeli military announced a ground offensive in Gaza. The armies said their objective is to strike a significant blow to Hamas infrastructure.
Those who attended the rally in White Plains said they are hoping for peace before any more lives are lost.
State Assemblyman David Buchwald organized the event. Bassam Nader, president of the Arab-American Foundation in Yonkers, said he believes both sides should sit down and stop the bombing.
"The sad thing is that both sides are losing people," he said.
