Dozens of community members gathered in Goshen Friday for the Lights for Liberty rally.
The event comes as the White House prepares for new immigration raids this weekend.
Organizers say they chose the village specifically because it is where the Orange County Correctional Facility is, which is where many immigrants who live in the Hudson Valley who are detained by ICE are being held.
Organizers tell News 12 that they believe it is important to raise their voices and let Washington know they want immigration reform that includes better treatment of undocumented immigrants coming to the U.S.
They say they want Congress to end what they are calling 'concentration camps' and to impeach President Donald Trump.
Earlier, News 12 was at another vigil in Rockland County where more than 50 people gathered with colorful signs calling on drivers to honk in support of undocumented immigrants.
The vigils come amid reports of deplorable conditions in detention facilities, including standing room-only cells, infants going without diapers and outbreaks of diseases.
