A Putnam County man is honoring his father in a unique way on what would have been his 95th birthday.
Brian Bonifacio, 48, has spent the last five years working on a Lego village he calls "Robertville." The village is in memory of his beloved dad, Robert.
The World War II veteran and retired NYPD officer died in 2018 before Bonifacio could complete the project.
The Patterson resident says everything built in the Lego village is symbolic of a time or place with his father.
"He was not only my father, he was my best friend,” says Bonifacio.
One of the places included is a police department in honor of Robert serving in the NYPD on motorcycle patrol in the Bronx.
“I was also able to minimize a picture, so he's hanging up in the hallway,” says Bonifacio.
Bonifacio says the village took thousands of hours to build. It’s currently housed at his job at Yorktown Self Storage.
News 12 is told he plans to add a replica of Citi Field since the New York Mets were his dad’s favorite team.
