Public housing tenants complain of bad elevator service
Tenants at a public housing complex in White Plains say that on any given day, either one or both of the elevators are out of service.
The building, located at 86 Dekalb Ave., is operated by the White Plains Housing Authority.
"We have seniors on the 11th and 12th floor," says resident Louisa Cohen. "It's hard for them to get up and down. On Sunday, we had no elevators working, This is a constant thing."
Another tenant, who did not want to appear on camera, said that the elevator service is just one issue residents have had to deal with. She said the hallways are never cleaned and that someone is urinating in the hallways.
