Progress continues on Tappan Zee Bridge
The new Tappan Zee Bridge continues to make progress along the Hudson River.
The installation of road deck panels is underway and steel-blue girders continue to extend into the Hudson. There is also noticeable progress alongside the main span towers, which are growing to their ultimate height of 419 feet.
While South Nyack residents like Tom Mulhern approve of the entire project, they wonder where the biking and foot path will go.
One resident says one of the proposed path locations would jeopardize one-third of her backyard.
"My son's grown up here. It's our home. We love Nyack and we're not opposed to a path, We intend to use it -- just not through our property," says Tanya Wisner.
South Nyack Mayor Bonnie Christian says an official plan hasn't been determined, and village leaders will look at four paths and concepts that will keep users off village streets.
