Four knives were confiscated from students this week at Port Jervis Middle School, according to the school's principal.
Principal Andrew Marotta says there were no threats of violence and that the knives were taken away during routine checks.
Each student who had a knife is being disciplined according to the district's code of conduct.
Marotta says weapons of any kind are never allowed on school grounds. He says the school is working closely with law enforcement.
