President Donald Trump has declared churches and other houses of worship essential and is now calling on governors this weekend to reopen them across the U.S.
He says he would take action if governors declined to reopen them. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that religious services of up to 10 people are allowed across the state with strict social distancing measures in place.
Cuomo referred to Young Israel of New Rochelle during his press conference after the coronavirus outbreak began there in March as a warning to reopen houses of worship "smartly and efficiently."
