Power outage causes school delays in Montebello
A number of homes were without power, and the start of school was delayed in Montebello because of downed power lines today.
O & R officials say a fallen branch likely caused wires to burn on Montebello Road around 6 a.m.
About 230 customers in Montebello and Airmont were initially without power.  The number is now down to about 25.
Suffern Middle School and Montebello Elementary School opened on a two-hour delay.
Power is expected to be restored by 10:30 a.m..
Police say traffic was backed in in the area around Hemion Road and Route 59 in Airmont.
