The city of Poughkeepsie has declared a snow emergency.
City officials are warning that snow removal will be difficult and that cars parked on public roads will only hinder their snow removal operations.
To help, all city-owned parking lots will be open to the public through Monday.
Residents are asked to wait until plows have cleared things before shoveling driveways and sidewalks.
A warming center will be open Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Public Safety building.
