Port Chester police took into custody a man who they say approached a John F. Kennedy Elementary School student on Olivia Street on Friday morning.
The area was under surveillance when police found a 31-year-old Port Chester resident approaching a child, engaging in small talk and then offering to walk with her.
Police say this behavior has happened multiple times in the past week.
