Businesses in Port Chester are taking extraordinary precautions to protect their stores ahead of two peaceful protests scheduled in the village this week.
Many stores on North Main Street are boarding up windows and doors, hoping to prevent potential property damage as protesters march through the streets.
Business owners say this is a terrible sight to a once vibrant downtown filled with small shops.
"As much as we agree with the reason for the protest, but at the same time we have to protect our business," says Dr. Cecilia Acosta-Lake, owner of Waterfront Dental Care.
Peaceful protests are taking place Thursday and Sunday in the village.
