Police say a Pop Warner football coach is connected to a massive narcotics bust in Rockland.
Authorities say parolee Theodore Holmes, 50, doubled as a heroin dealer while he was the head football coach for Ramapo-Spring Valley Pop Warner football,
Holmes was arrested last summer along Route 17 in Blooming Grove after crashing his car during a police chase, according to authorities. A 13-year-old player was in the backseat.
Investigators say he was supposed to be driving the boy home to Middletown, but instead made a pit stop to buy heroin, which he allegedly had the boy toss out of the car.
Authorities say records show Pop Warner officials did a background check, but it's not clear how Holmes passed - as he is an ex-convict with a long rap sheet.
A rep for Pop Warner said Holmes was not coaching at the time of his arrest and calls the situation "unfortunate."
Holmes faces a number of drug charges, as well as child endangerment.
