Police are warning Orange & Rockland Utilities customers about a phone scam.
Clarkstown officials say people are posing as Orange & Rockland employees threatening to shut off customers' service if they don't pay phony bills with Green Dot -- or prepaid debit cards.
News 12 is told the utility company does not accept those cards as payment and there cannot be an immediate shut off of electricity.
Police ask anyone who receives one of those calls to hang up and to not redial.
