A teenage girl has been arrested for allegedly trying to steal a 75-year-old woman's purse in White Plains.
Police say it happened near Mamaroneck Avenue and Old Mamaroneck Road last week.
Officers say they were in the area when they saw a 17-year-old girl trying to rip a purse off a 75-year-old woman's shoulder.
The victim was knocked to the ground, injuring her knees.
The teen took off running when she saw police but was taken into custody about a quarter-mile away.
