Police seek roommate after man is beaten to death
Police are looking for the roommate of a Bronx man who was found beaten to death inside his apartment.
According to authorities, 63-year-old Elvin Ramirez was found unconscious inside his apartment on the Grand Concourse Thursday night. He had sustained serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ramirez's cousin, Josue Gonzales, says Ramirez got into an argument with his male roommate earlier on Thursday, although police have not confirmed that. Gonzales found Ramirez laying on the ground covered in blood with a shovel nearby.
Another relative told News 12 The Bronx off-camera that Ramirez was unable to work because he had diabetes and heart problems. She says he offered his roommate a place to stay and helped him get a job.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
