Police in Saugerties are searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on Wednesday around 5 p.m.

A 21-year-old woman was struck while walking along the southbound shoulder of Route 9W, between Saugerties and Malden.

She was transported to the hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries.
