Police are searching for a man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman Thursday night in the woods on Route 6 in Cortlandt Manor.

According to authorities, the 22-year-old victim was walking home along East Main Street at around 11 p.m. when a man dragged her into the woods and sexually assaulted her. Police say Felito Medina, of Peekskill, heard the screams and chased off the attacker.

Medina says after he walked the woman home, he spotted her attacker again and called police.

Police say they are working on a sketch of the attacker. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 914-737-7171.
