Police are on the hunt for the armed robbers who held up a Smashburger on the Westchester-Bronx border.
The Smashburger on Boston Road in the Bronx, right on the Westchester line, was the scene of an armed robbery late Sunday night.
Police say two men armed with guns entered the restaurant located in the Post Road Plaza shopping center just before 11 p.m., and stole nearly $7,000 from the cash registers. About six employees were there at the time, and no one was injured.
News 12 has been told that Smashburger was closed at the time of the incident, but the alleged robbers came through an open back door.
Smashburger officials say they will be reviewing their safety protocols in light of the armed robbery.
