Two men from Rockland County were stabbed in an attack Monday afternoon at Point Pleasant Beach near Jenkinson’s Aquarium, according to police.
Officials say Alex Galdamex, 22, and William Mazariegogo, 18, both of West Haverstraw, suffered multiple stab wounds. Both were listed in serious condition but stable condition and are expected to OK, authorities said Tuesday.
Police say two people were taken into custody, including a 17-year-old suspect who is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
The Point Pleasant mayor says that the stabbing happened around 4 p.m. while the beach was crowded with Labor Day beachgoers.
There is no word yet on a motive.
