The Westchester County Police Department’s Marine Unit and Empress Ambulance Services were at the Tarrytown Marine Thursday to train for different water rescue scenarios.
In one scenario, responders practiced finding and caring for a “patient” under the Tappan Zee Bridge.
As News 12 was filming, reports of a sailboat taking on water on the Long Island Sound spurred everyone into action. New Rochelle police were able to render assistance to the incident.
Police and responders are advising the public to be careful on the water.
