A Ramapo boy who ended up in a tributary of Lake Suzanne remains hospitalized but is recovering, according to police.

Ramapo police say the 7-year-old was playing on Saturday when he went into the water to retrieve a ball.

He ended up under the water for an extended period of time before he was rescued by emergency crews and good Samaritans.

There is no word on how long he will have to remain hospitalized.
