Police are investigating a possible attempted murder-suicide in Cortlandt Manor Wednesday that left a man dead and his wife seriously wounded.
Police were dispatched to a home on Watch Hill Road at around 9:15 a.m. after a report of shots fired. When they entered the house they found 47-year-old Gerard Moray dead in his kitchen and his wife, Angela, with gunshot wounds to the arms and chest. She was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where police say she is expected to pull through.
Gerard Moray was a detention officer at the Yonkers City Jail. Police say the couple were separated and had a violent argument before the shooting. Their three children were at school at the time of the shooting. They have not ruled out the possibility that Moray shot his wife and then the gun was grabbed and turned against him.
