Police were on the scene of an apparent shooting in Mount Vernon Sunday evening.

The incident allegedly took place on the corner of Ninth Avenue and Fifth Street.

News 12 has heard that a man was taken to Mount Vernon Hospital, but it is unclear what his current condition is.

News 12 arrived on scene and saw an Audi with a Massachusetts license plate that was surrounded by latex gloves and some blood on the ground.

The location was next to a community church and surrounded by neighbors who seemed to not have any knowledge of what may have transpired earlier Sunday evening.
