Police have taken into custody a Rockland County man accused of beating and stabbing his ex-wife in a New Jersey parking lot Friday.
Authorities say 41-year-old Allan Pelcak, of Valley Cottage, was found hiding at a relative's house in Haverstraw after allegedly attacking his ex-wife, Laura Matosek, in the parking lot of the Sheraton Crossroads Hotel in Mahwah, N.J.
Following the incident, Matosek underwent emergency surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
Officials say Pelcak and Matosek are going through a divorce and custody battle over their two children.
