Police in Milford say a man that barricaded himself inside an apartment has been found dead.
Police responded around midnight to a car crash near 25 High St. and believe the male who barricaded himself inside the apartment was involved in that crash.
No one else was involved.
Police did not release that man’s identity, but say he was a 50-year-old man.
The man's sister was driving up to the apartment after the man made some suicidal type comments that concerned her.
Police tried to enter the man's apartment using canine and robot entry, but attempts were unsuccessful.
A five-man entry team had successfully entered the apartment around 8 a.m., and that's when they found the man dead in the apartment.
Police say he lived alone and is a registered gun owner.
They are awaiting for the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
Roads were closed around High Street for several hours, and nearby apartments were evacuated while they were dealing with the man they described as an emotionally disturbed person.
Police say this area is now turned into a crime scene.
