Police say a man was stabbed in the chest Wednesday afternoon in Middletown.

Officers say it happened around 2:30 p.m. at a home on Little Avenue.

Police on the scene say the man was rushed to the hospital but was conscious and alert.

Authorities say the suspect got away. There is no word yet on what led to the stabbing.
