Police are searching for a gunman who they say shot a man in the back twice Friday night in New Rochelle.
The shooting occurred at around 9 p.m. near Lockwood Avenue and May Street. Witnesses report hearing gunshots and seeing the victim running off down the street.
The victim was rushed to Montefiore Medical Center by a cab driver. News 12 is told he in serious, but stable condition.
Investigators combed the scene for hours after the shooting to collect evidence.
There is no word yet as whether police have identified a suspect, but the investigation is ongoing.
