Police in Hastings say a man barricaded himself and his wife inside their Marion Avenue home for several hours.
Antonio Velez, 41, held his wife hostage and threatened her life following a domestic dispute Sunday night, according to police. A SWAT team was called to the scene.
John Brink, a neighbor of the Velez family, says that police have been called to the Velez home a few times.
Brink says that Velez's children played a role in getting him out of the house. He says that one stipulation included Velez being able to see his kids.
Police say Velez is facing several charges. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
