A well-known Ossining community activist has been arrested after allegedly being caught with crack cocaine and PCP.

Police say Spencer Thomas, who became known in Ossining when he launched a campaign to stop local street violence and keep kids from turning to drugs, was caught buying the drugs Friday on Broad Avenue.

Police say Thomas was combative when they confronted him and tried to kick out the window of a patrol car.

Thomas, who is charged with four misdemeanors, is being held at the Westchester County Jail on $10,000 bail. He is due back in court Tuesday.
