Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday on a Yonkers street.
According to police, two men were sitting in a parked car on Woodworth Avenue around 2:20 a.m. A car then drove by, and a man got out and began firing at the parked car before driving away. Police say bullets hit the car but the two men inside were not hurt.
Yonkers police say several shootings have occurred in the past two weeks in the area. A bullet narrowly missed an 11-year-old in her bedroom Monday at the Schroeder Street Housing Complex. Police say a teenager was also hit twice in the legs outside the Whitney Manor Apartments on Nepperhan Avenue. Two weeks ago, police arrested 11 gang members for allegedly shooting guns for target practice in the Hollow Section of the city.
