Police identify woman found dead in Ardsley lake
Police released the identity Monday of a woman whose body was found in an icy Ardsley lake Sunday. They also ruled out foul play.
A medical examiner said Ana Oquendo, 34, of South Yonkers, suffered hypothermia and drowned after falling into Woodlands Lake in V.E. Macy Park. Investigators believe she may have been in the lake for 12 hours before a couple feeding ducks found her body around 11 a.m.
Westchester County police are awaiting a toxicology report, but have said she may have slipped while feeding ducks. They are not ruling out suicide at this point.
Oquendo, a mother of a 12-year-old boy, worked as a supervisor for Optical Distributor Group in Hawthorne. Co-workers described her as hardworking.
