Police have identified the man who died Tuesday night after falling off a bridge.
Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Paul Montenero from Poughkeepsie.
Police responded to the Newburgh Beacon Bridge around 9:50 p.m. They say Montenero fell from the bridge after his vehicle became disabled in traffic.
Montenero attempted to get to a safer location along the pedestrian walkway adjacent to the road but apparently fell through a gap, according to officials.
Montenero's body was recovered by the Orange County Technical Rescue Team.
