Police: Hunt on for ‘armed and dangerous’ man
A manhunt is now underway for a wanted man and woman in Cortlandt.
State police say they are searching for George Foster Jr., 33, of Cortlandt, who is currently wanted for menacing with a firearm and has outstanding warrants in New York and South Carolina.
Foster's father tells News 12 the latest incident began when his two sons got into a fight at their Locust Avenue home. George Foster Sr. says that he called police, but by the time troopers arrived, his son took off. "Yes, he is a troublemaker. He's going to jail in January in South Carolina. All he wanted to do is come up and see his kids before he went to jail," says George Foster Sr.
Foster is described as a white male, 5 feet 6 inches, and approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen early this morning on the 200 block of Locust Avenue. Police stress that the public should not approach Foster since he is considered an "armed and dangerous" man.
Police believe he is with his wife, Renee Jones, 33, who is also wanted by the state police for an unrelated incident.
