Fireworks may be the cause of a fire that displaced a Yonkers family.
The fire occurred at a three-story building on Stanley Avenue Saturday night.
Louis Rosario and nine of his family members lost their belongings, as well as their cat and dog.
"Yonkers is an extremely densely populated city, lots of old buildings, beautiful old buildings, but when you add in fireworks into that mix it's really a very, very dangerous combination," says Yonkers Police Commissioner John Mueller.
The police department has seen a spike in fireworks use this year and are encouraging everyone to text a tip line if they suspect fireworks are being sold or used.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
The Yonkers police commissioner says the fire is being investigated as a possible arson.
