An Eastchester man is behind bars Friday after allegedly punching his wife in the face.

Police responded to a domestic dispute call at the Thorncroft Apartment complex in Eastchester Thursday night. According to authorities, the man punched his wife and then stabbed himself in the leg. The man was treated at Westchester Medical Center and taken into custody.

The man's wife was taken to police headquarters for questioning.

Neighbors say police have been called to the same apartment numerous times.
