Police say a Bridgeport mother left her 3-year-old son alone long enough for him to wander a block away and get seriously injured at a playground.
They say Deyaneyra Adorno-Lind, 23, left her son alone in her backyard while she went inside to use the bathroom.
Police say the 3-year-old left the backyard, crossed a busy intersection and then began to play on a jungle gym at Newfield Park in the East End of the city.
Witnesses say the boy suffered a fall and ended up with a deep gash on his face.
The child was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he received stitches for the wound.
Adorno-Lind is being held on $10,000 bond after being charged with felony risk of injury to a minor.
