Stamford police say that the body of a baby found in a recycling center last week may have been born in northern Westchester or Connecticut.
Workers at the recycling center found the body of the newborn in debris on a conveyer belt.
The medical examiner's autopsy about the boy’s death was inconclusive, so officials are trying to pinpoint where the child may have been born.
Investigators say the only thing they know for sure is that the newborn baby was male and either Caucasian or Hispanic, but they don't know if he was stillborn or died after birth.
Police are hoping that someone in the Hudson Valley or Connecticut can provide information to help them solve the mystery.

Officials say they would like to hear if someone knows a person who was full-term pregnant and gave birth, but there is no rational explanation where the child disappeared to.
Police say they are not considering it a murder investigation for now, but that could change if they determine the baby was born alive.
