Police arrest woman in deadly Yonkers hit-and-run
Police say they have arrested the driver who targeted and fatally struck a Yonkers woman with her car over the weekend.
Yonkers police arrested Carla Scott, 34, Wednesday night. She has been charged with manslaughter in the hit-and-run killing of 37-year-old Glynis Pinto, of Yonkers.
Investigators say Scott waited for just the right moment to slam her car into the 37-year-old last Saturday.
Surveillance video shows Pinto, the mother of a 17-year-old son, clinging to the hood of a black sedan near the intersection of Warburton Avenue and Babcock Place.
Pinto is later thrown from the vehicle out of camera range, and run over. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators say the two women had a prior dispute before the incident.
Scott was denied bail at her arraignment Thursday at Yonkers City Court. The married mother of five children has a record of charges including a non-violent felony conviction and three misdemeanor convictions.
