Police say they have arrested a tractor-trailer driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in Kensington Wednesday morning.
It happened at the corner of Cortelyou Road and McDonald Avenue.
Police received a call for the situation around 7 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man under a truck. He was declared dead on arrival.
Officials say the driver was going northbound to make a right on McDonald Avenue as the victim was crossing. He was pinned under the wheel of the truck.
The 54-year-old driver stayed at the scene of the accident.
The NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad later arrested the driver for failing to yield to a pedestrian and failing to exercise due care.
The owners of the driver's company say they are shocked and are cooperating with investigators.
