Police arrest 2 men after 2 high speed chases
Police say two Bronx men were arrested Tuesday after leading officers on a high speed chase through Yonkers.
Authorities say 30-year-old Anthony Cruz and 26-year-old Eric Rivera led police on a wild chase from the Bronx River Parkway onto the Cross County Parkway before allegedly crashing into a median and then into a police car. One week ago, the same suspects led police on a similar chase in the same Chevrolet Impala.
The two men were arrested and jailed last week, but released. Police say they stopped pursuit of the men during the second chase Tuesday morning but later arrested them at their Bronx homes.
Cruz and Rivera are both charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of stolen property. After both police chases, officers say they found stolen Cadillac Escalade headlights inside their vehicle.
Cruz?s bail is set at $25,000 and Rivera?s at $10,000.
