The driver of a car that left the roadway and killed a 70-year-old Yonkers woman before slamming into a house may have been in an "altered state" at the time, according to police.
Authorities say the crash happened on 693 North Broadway just before 7 p.m.
They say a 70-year-old Yonkers woman was walking along the sidewalk when she was fatally struck by a car driven by a 54-year-old woman from White Plains.
That woman was taken the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
