Police: 3 arraigned on armed robbery charges
Three suspects were arraigned Tuesday for allegedly robbing a couple at gunpoint inside a parking garage in downtown White Plains last week.
According to authorities, a 26-year-old White Plains man and a 26-year-old Yonkers woman parked in a Chester Avenue garage on June 21 when Juan Morel and William Hernandez, both of New Rochelle, walked up to the car and robbed them of cash, credit cards and cell phones. Police say the suspects then jumped into a minivan driven by Hernandez's sister, Liz Rodriguez, and fled.
Three days later, police say they tracked the suspects and arrested them outside their home. White Plains police say the trio may be linked to other crimes in Mount Vernon and Yonkers. All three suspects are being held at the Westchester County Jail.
