Two Mount Vernon men were arrested Tuesday during a funeral for a slain teenager.
A man was arrested at the funeral for Tamani Turner for carrying a loaded gun. Another man was arrested for trying to stop police from handcuffing the suspect.
Detectives say they saw an individual that they believed to be a witness. The person ran away when they saw detectives.
When police caught up with the person, they say they found a loaded handgun.
As detectives were trying to handcuff the suspect, another Mount Vernon man jumped on the backs of the detectives, allegedly trying to stop the arrest.
Both men were arrested and removed from the funeral procession.
They will be formally charged Wednesday at Mount Vernon City Court.
