Police: 18-year-old man fatally shot in Mount Vernon

Police confirmed that the man fatally shot in Mount Vernon this week was 18 years old.
They say officers were conducting a traffic stop on South 10th Avenue shortly after midnight Thursday when a driver told officers his cousin was just shot.
The victim's cousin brought police to the scene at South Eighth Avenue. By then, his friends had already transported him to Mount Vernon Hospital's emergency room.
The victim was later transferred to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where he died.
The case is still under investigation.
