Residents in Pleasantville are asking officials to change their decision to close the village’s pool this summer.

The village board decided to close the pool for the 2020 summer season in the wake of coronavirus out of an abundance of caution.

A petition to reverse that decision has gained 500 signatures in just few days on change.org.

Residents are also asking the board to make pool repairs they say are necessary.  "It needs to be updated, I think that as times changed, and as Pleasantville has evolved, it hasn't evolved for the community or the size of the community," says Lynda Natale, of Pleasantville.

The Pleasantville board of trustees plans on addressing these matters during its virtual town hall meeting on Monday.
