People from across the Hudson Valley spent part of their day donating the gift of life to those who need it.
About 100 people were expected at Pleasantville High School Monday to donate blood.
The drive is important for area hospitals because blood is at a critically low level, according to blood drive workers.
They say that the low level of blood is due in part to the amount of snowstorms in past months.
Those working at the drive said all blood types are welcome.
The drive is scheduled to continue through 9 p.m.
